Meet the crew below
Business Owner & Director
Kia ora, I'm Josh, the Director of Ecoarb ltd, Tree Specialists. I have played and worked outside my entire life enjoying nature and in particular trees.
Growing up as a child on the largest Christmas tree farm in the Waikato, planting, shaping, and cutting trees was just the start of lifelong love and career in the tree industry. I have my own family now and I've been fulltime cutting and pruning trees professionally for 17 years, fully qualified arborist since 2006.
Over the years I've competed and represented NZ in tree climbing competitions overseas and won multiple regional competitions. During this time I have also intensively studied and gained a broader understanding of the ecosystem resulting in a level 6 Science diploma in wetland restoration.
I have also spent time tutoring students at Wintec on the subject, something I really enjoyed.
Ecological Arboriculture is what we do! but it's far too long, hence the name......Ecoarb......Tree Specialists 😁
Levi studied Arboriculture at Wintec in 2017-2018 in the same class as Zac! Graduated along side him with a level 4 certificate in Arb. Started with EcoArb in 2017 a few weeks after beginning his qualification.
Here’s what Levi had to say...
“My favourite thing about the job is the ability to work outdoors in an exciting environment and waking up to a new ‘office’ everyday. Working along side one of my best mates for the last year has been wicked, rolling round smashing out jobs big and small. Outside of work I love surfing as much as I can, I grew up in Mount Maunganui and having Raglan so close now is a bonus. I also enjoy boating and fishing with my old man as well as playing guitar with him. I hope to pursue my career with Eco Arb and find out what the future holds for our team, Chur Bowl!”
Zac studied Arboriculture at Wintec in 2017 - 2018 and is level 4 qualified, he started at Ecoarb in 2019.
Here’s what Zac had to say...
“My favourite thing about my job is the variety that it offers, we could be taking down massive trees, to pruning awesome specimen trees then doing something small with the hand saws or seckys, going to different and challenging jobs around the Waikato. Getting to use chainsaws and chippers, climbing at heights getting the adrenaline going all are fun stuff. In my spare time like watching/playing sports, listening to music and going to concerts” Zac is always sitting down on the job as you can see 😉😂
